Getting to Know: Sandro - Front Office Manager

What do you love most about running a hotel?
I love that no two days ever seem to be the same. Each day throws up new challenges and experiences which helps maintain motivation and focus.

What is the strangest thing you've ever seen working in hotels?
While there are many things that I can't share with you, one story that sticks in my memory is one morning when I was walking along a hotel corridor I found a naked man fast asleep. He was apparently sleep walking and couldn't find his way back to the room. The strange thing was that his partner didn't even know he was missing until we presented him at the door to their room.

Which of your hotel guests have been the most memorable?
A guest's son had a mild form of autism. After several room changes due to him not feeling comfortable, he came to the desk and presented a note to me. It read "I would like to sincerely thank you for your efforts to make my stay comfortable. I would tell you this in person but when expressing emotions I tend to get stressed and start to cry. Thank you once again." I still have the note. It helps to keep things in perspective when dealing with others whose lives are probably far less challenging yet they seem to make the most noise when something small and insignificant doesn't work out quite right.

What would you spend your last $100 on?
My kids
