Nothing defines a Melbourne summer more than the night markets at Queen Vic Markets. Kicking off on 16, The Summer Night Market (SNM) will bring an array of great seasonal food and entertainment offerings including unique food options, deliciously refreshing drinks and a buzzing summer atmosphere to your Wednesday nights The themes will vary each, and the theme for the first Wednesday is disco funk.
Included in the weekly line-up are That Gold Street Band, a funk and soul party band from Melbourne, The Everymen, a combo of Piano and Drums blended throughout a bottomed blues vibe and James Kenyon who threads narrative through music to re-tell Australian stories.
Make sure you come hungry as there will be plenty of stalls to tempt your hungry belly. The Trapizzino direct from Rome by 400 Gradi will be making it’s debut appearance or if African flavours are more to your taste, you’ll want to line up for The Moroccan Kitchen by MJR Tom.
To quench your thirst, you can order Strawberries and cream in the Pimm’s Garden and sit back and relax in style with this classic English summer combo, or order a limited edition Coopers Amber Ale brewed specially for the SNM. Cheeky Rascal Cider will also have a dedicated Frozen Cider Bar, just the drink you need to cool off with on those warm summer nights.
